A favorite for decades -- fried catfish is always perfection, with the best tarter sauce anywhere. BLT always great, pies are fabulous. Fried green tomatoes are a must -- best I've ever had! Reasonable prices, plenty of parking, and the nicest people in Fort Walton!

I had the BBQ pork sandwich and there was no hint the meat had ever been cooked on a grill/smoker. I think it was baked in an oven and overly sauced with a vinegary sauce that was over powering. The side of fries ($3.25) were limp and on the greasy side. I will stick with Sonnys BBQ where the food has that true smokey taste. Not worth the one star rating.

Solid food, decent prices, great selection of country cooking and bbq items. Not out of this world, but....solid. We will be back. On wedsnedays they have buy one get one free sandwiches! We got here right after closing (they close at 8pm) but they made us up some to go food anyways, which was super nice! The bbq sauce is tangy, sweet and not overly spicy. The veggies are undersalted so that you can salt to taste. The cole slaw is so-so but the onion rings are great.

Unfortunately nothing to rave about; OK at best. I was really craving something BBQ and it was the closest place. I showed up around 7pm on a Friday night and it was empty... that should have tipped me off. Can't complain about the staff but then again I was the only one in the restaurant. I can't remember anything on the menu that popped out on me and I can't remember anything that stood out on the specials menu that was hand-written on a white board. I do remember that I chose the pork sandwich, which came with fries. It was edible, but that's about it. The pork was average, the BBQ sauce average and it was just on a regular hamburger bun (not toasted or anything). There wasn't even that much pork. Maybe I made a poor decision with my meal choice, maybe I should have asked for a recommendation, maybe I should have asked what they're known for but I didn't. I'm the type of person that tries things more than once just to make sure the first impression was an accurate representation.... I'm just not sure how soon that will be...

Good food... I'm not a huge BBQ fan but my husband loves it.. this place has good BBQ and so much more. We will definitely be going back. They have daily specials and are very friendly.

we're from texas and we know our BBQ. it's good food made from a locally owned mom/pop type of shop. food is freshly made. no frills. the Lima beans and onions rings are outstanding. I agree that the other veggies are under salted, which I don't mind so that we can all salt to taste. you can tell they use fresh ingredients to start with. my husband enjoyed his beef and sausage. my mom and dad had crispy fried catfish and a good solid chicken sandwich. it's a nice break from the seafood places drowned in butter.

Spent all my life in TX, NC, and GA. I love BBQ and this is the best I have had in 2+ years. Feels like a grandparents Sunroom turned restaurant. They smoke using a pit over hickory and make their own everything from biscuits to sauce to pecan fudge pie (not a typo). I joined yelp just to write this review for my new favorite BBQ joint this side of the Mississippi! Do yourself a favor and order the sausage or sampler plate. $17 and I couldn't finish the meal bc I had to save room for that pecan fudge pie.

Good food. Wednesday deal for buy one get one free bbq sandwich is great. However, the service and atmosphere are terrible. We went to get our food to go but there was no area to wait for takeout so we sat down at a table. The waitress we had was an older lady with short dark hair and a serious attitude. After placing our order and bringing us the check, we decided that no tip was necessary because we were getting the order to go and all she had to do was take our order and bring the takeout bag to us. Well when she came to our table to retrieve the ticket, she looked at it as she walked away and then apparently upon realizing we left no tip, slammed it down. Then upon bringing us our food, dropped the bag down on the table and said "Here you go" and kept walking. No "thanks for your business" or "have a good night"... Nothing. It may have just been a rough day for her, but still rubbed us the wrong way. We likely will not return.

Good BBQ and plenty of sides. Friendly service. If you are lucky you will be there on a day when they have Buttermilk Pie.

This is without question the worse place I have eaten possibly ever. Drove by and went in to get a menu, no one there. Menu looked good went back next night. Ribs came plain w BBQ sauce on the side. Tasted horrible. Turnip greens were cold, blacked eyed peas and girlfriends baked beans where canned. Coleslaw was actually spit back in the napkin because it was warm and foul. Corn bread was store bought muffins. Waitress was very nice. We were the only people in the place. I was up at midnight and you can guess what I was doing. Really really bad.

my husband wanted a pound of ribs but we were told that we had to get them to go to get them. he had to get the platter (there was only four ribs on it) bbq pork sandwich wasn't good. the chicken tenders tasted like the oil they were cooked in. the fries were a joke. will not be going back.

Food is good and Tuesday evenings they have an excellent spaghetti dinner. One of my favorites

Yucky! Yucky! Yucky! Everything we ordered tasted like vinegar with the exception of the cobbler. My friend and I though we would try the place because it looks like a little family run business, and those are usually bound to be good. NOT THIS ONE! I will never go back even though the cobbler was not bad. The rest of our food was terrible!

This is a cool non-chain restaurant that is definitely worth trying. I just stopped in for a pulled pork sandwich but ended up leaving with 2 pounds of ribs also. The BBQ sandwich was very good with a toasted bun. It could have used more pork as it seemed a little overwhelmed by the bun. I couldn't get a great taste of how the BBQ pork by itself as they had previously slathered a good amount of BBQ sauce on the meat. The ribs were tasty and smokey. Could have been a tad more tender but awesome ribs are an art so these were 4 out of 5 overall.

My friend and I tried this place after hearing positive feedback from co-workers. I'll admit, as a local I often saw this place, but due to it's apperance never thought to investigate. Although the outside looks a tad worn due to the buildings age, the inside is clean and filled with everything pig related. Pig figurines, pig clocks, piggy banks, ect. Although the dinners of the day are decent, they have nothing on the BBQ! The pork is always tender, and the meat is flavored while cooking, instead of being bland and smothered with sauce. The best thing, is when I asked for extra BBQ sauce they brought me a large squeeze bottle and not a little container, which earns them big points in my book.
